Why did you decide to start your business?

We decided to start our own business so we could be in control of our own destiny. We were very happy working for someone else but the itch needed to be scratched. We saw an opportunity to make the whole Company Incorporation process even easier for the public and business clients and felt we could improve on what was being offered in the marketplace online with the experience we had. We felt we could improve the process and products in the marketplace. Most of us starting a business are faced with either registering a business name or forming a limited company. Many find it a daunting experience, and we wanted de-mystify the process, and allow someone do it by filling out a simple online form.

What was the biggest challenge you faced when starting your business?

Getting the operational process absolutely correct was one of our biggest challenges. We spent 12 months planning the process both online and offline. The process of forming a Limited Company is an exact process, and we knew this process well. Our challenge was to plan the execution administratively behind the scenes so it is done efficiently, and quickly. In this way we can offer out a competitive price for the services offered. We are very happy with the result, but we are always looking for improvement in the process. Feedback from our clients is key here.

What has been your biggest achievement to date?.

Our biggest achievement to date has been to get the process live and trading. We had a steep learning curve regarding the connectivity between various third parties for hosting, design, secure payment processing and so on. We took the security of the payment process to the extreme, ensuring that it was completely secure. We wanted our clients to be confident that our site was secure, and a safe place to start their business. We also wanted it to be an information hub for people, so they could make an informed decision about starting their business.

Who do you look up to in business?

We look up to anyone who has determination, and drive to start any business. We hear many stories of people who have business ideas and are at the very start of their journey. Starting a business for many is a daunting but very exciting process. It has its ups and its downs, but mostly ups! We get to be there on the birthday of the business, and get to communicate with people who are very excited about the future. This is a perk of the job for us.

What is your advice for other entrepreneurs?

Setting up any business can be difficult. Determination is needed, and in bucket loads. Don’t expect the business to perform financially quickly, but be prepared when it does, as your administrative resource will be tested.

Become a recognised expert. Know your industry inside and out and always be studying your industry through trade publications Be sure you are keeping up with changing trends. Communicate this knowledge to the marketplace. By doing this you will gain credibility in your industry, and with your audience, a valuable asset for any business.

We work hard to Network as much as possible. We value all networking opportunities, and we are members of various organisations where we stay active, for example the Cork Chamber and the Marketing Institute of Ireland. These organisations offer us opportunities to meet many different organisations who use our services. We have had a very good response so far in the marketplace. We are a service orientated business. We believe that good service will make us stronger in the long run.
