A lot has changed since Nigel Gahan’s Grandad started the Gahan family business in the 1950s; then a “cornershop butcher” in Raheny in Dublin. Today, Gahan Meats is a wholesale butcher, based in a state-of-the art facility in Finglas that was built to keep up with demand.
In supplying a customer base that includes hotels, restaurants and catering firms, Gahan Meats has a large number of people to keep in touch with. Traditionally, the company would have favoured a very direct, in-person approach to marketing and customer engagement. With the advent of new technology and the increasing size of the business, particularly this year, that has changed.
