Bank of Ireland's November 2011 Enterprise Week kicked off in Waterford's Granville Hotel to a packed house.
The key note speaker was Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Norah Casey, CEO of Harmonia Publishing. Norah again emphasised the possibilities for young women to achieve anything in modern Ireland. When Norah spoke at the Women in Business Enterprise Week’s in May she stated that “showing them good role models is one of the best ways to do it”
Anne Marie Caulfield is the current President of the Waterford Chamber of Commerce and a retailer in her own right with Super Value supermarkets in the south and south-east of the country. The Waterford Chamber of Commerce represents over 600 member companies at local level and also their interests to government and other key stakeholders.

At this years Out On Your Own conference, All About Business were part of the large audience of entrepreneurs, students and SMEs owners who gathered in the RDS to hear guest speakers, financial services experts and of course the Dragons talk about entrepreneurship and give advice about starting up and growing your own business.

A new initiative aimed at helping SMEs to establish an online presence has been launched. The Getting Irish Business Online (GIBO) initiative is the first of its kind in Ireland and is backed by several leading Irish online companies, such as Irish Domains and Blueface.
The initiative offers small businesses a chance to get an internet domain, email, web presence and VOIP phone line with local geographic number free for a year. This is a much needed service for start-up businesses who often find it too time consuming or expensive to establish a web presence on their own. According to the CSO nearly one third of businesses do not have a website, and only about a fifth have e-commerce capability.
