Theme: How technology can help SMEs develop and grow more economically and efficiently Bank of Ireland's Enterprise Week took place from the 18th - 25th May, and kicked off with the launch event hosted at Microsoft’s Head Quarters in Sandyford.

Peter Clancy, owner of Business Development Consultancy was the Winner of the Enterprise Week Mobile Check in Competition and the prize for entering the competition was a brand new Samsung Galaxy Tablet.

I heard about Enterprise Week through Charlotte Cunningham, the Business Manager in Rathfarnham where I have banked for years. She offered me a number of slots to display my business in branch during the week, and also invited me to the Networking event in Louis Fitzgerald.

The theme of Bank of Ireland UK's Enterprise Breakfast as part of Enterprise Week was Grow Our Own - A Bright Future for Farming, Food and SMEs so it was fitting that both the majority of attendees and speakers were from the fast growing Agri-Food sector inNorthern Ireland. The key speakers were Dr. Mark Browne representing the Northern Ireland Executive and Aiden Kearney, Fresh Produce Trading Manager of Musgrave Retailer’s N.I.
Dr. Browne opened proceedings for the invited speakers and delivered a positive and motivational talk on “Creating a vision for Agri inNorthern Ireland” outlining the Executive’s vision for a long-term strategy for the Agri-Food sector in N.I. This sector is demonstrating huge potential for the future judging by the growth it has and is experiencing currently. Just some of the figures shared with the gathered SMEs and entrepreneurs were;

Bank of Ireland's November 2011 Enterprise Week kicked off in Waterford's Granville Hotel to a packed house.
The key note speaker was Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Norah Casey, CEO of Harmonia Publishing. Norah again emphasised the possibilities for young women to achieve anything in modern Ireland. When Norah spoke at the Women in Business Enterprise Week’s in May she stated that “showing them good role models is one of the best ways to do it”
Anne Marie Caulfield is the current President of the Waterford Chamber of Commerce and a retailer in her own right with Super Value supermarkets in the south and south-east of the country. The Waterford Chamber of Commerce represents over 600 member companies at local level and also their interests to government and other key stakeholders.

As part of Bank of Ireland's Enterprise Programme, Dublin West is currently hosting a number of economic seminars for SMEs. The first event was held last Wednesday 5th October in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel. There were two speakers from Bank of Ireland including Michael Crowley (Senior Economist Global Markets) and Damien Daly (Head of Group Deposits) at this event. On Thursday, the All About Business team visited the Enterprise Week event in Kildaton College, Co. Kilkenny themed "Supporting Recovery through Exports Agri & Food" went off yesterday without a hitch.
Over 60 local businesses exhibited their products and services at Kildalton College, the largest agricultural college in the country. Exhibitors were diverse and included local entrepreneurs promoting everything from hand painted silks, Cashel blue cheese and cupcakes to companies selling farm equipment and bio-mass fuel systems!
Phil Hogan TD and Minister for the Environment opened up the event with the message that confidence was the key to our economic future. Minister Hogan spoke about the challenges that businesses in the Agri & Food sector were facing and what the government were doing to support them.
