In May 2009, Bank of Ireland launched their first National Enterprise Week. We hosted over 120 events throughout the week, and more than 1000 businesses participated in functions and events throughout the country.
Following the success of this initiative, we are delighted to announce that our 2010 National Enterprise Week will commence on Monday, 24th May, coinciding with the European SME Week. The overarching objective for this week is to lift the spirit of entrepreneurship in Ireland, by providing businesses with the opportunity to network, and meet with other businesses and experts that can support their business. Today in Croke Park, from 11am to 3pm, Apprentice employer Bill Cullen and Norah Casey of Dragons' Den fame, are leading an event inviting businesses to pitch for investment from Ireland's main banks and agencies. Called Ireland's first 'Pop-up Bank', the event will include representations from AIB, Bank of Ireland and Ulster Bank.
Agencies such as Enterprise Ireland, First-Step, the Irish Local Development Network, enterprise boards and venture capitalists will also attend.
The initiative will be filmed as part of a new RTE series, The Business, which is due on air in early March. [...]
